Shave the desired area the day of your appointment to prepare your skin for the tattoo. Arrive well rested, hydrated and not intoxicated.
Leave your second skin cover on for 3–6 days with 6 days being the best.
Don't put anything else on your tattoo while it's healing except what was given in your post-care bag.
Avoid sleeping directly on your tattoo if possible.
Once the second skin is removed, with clean hands gently wash your tattoo with your provided tattoo soap and water.
Pat dry with a clean paper towel (not a bath towel) and apply a thin layer of Aquaphor. Wash once daily, drying and applying Aquaphor each morning thereafter. Reapply Aquaphor 5–7 times a day for the following 10–14 days.
If you bled more than average during your procedure, please refrain from using blood thinners for an additional 24 hours.
Your tattoo should be healed in 2 weeks.
IN THE SCAB ERA
Do not prematurely pick at your tattoo.

Especially for tattoos in areas which fade faster such as feet, knees, fingers and elbows. Please contact HL Studio + Ink directly for a quote.

If you would like to book a brow wax with HL Studio + Ink, please book for 3–7 days before your cosmetic tattoo. This is optional. Otherwise, avoid any form of hair removal or trimming for 3 weeks prior. This way, Heidi can see where your hair grows.
Wipe in the direction of hair growth (medium pressure, don’t scrub) with the provided sterile water wipe.

Evenly apply a thin layer of the balm provided. One rice size is enough for both eyebrows. Do this every hour, for a total of 4 hours, consecutively. (ex: procedure finished at 2pm. Begin this process at 2:30pm, 3:30pm, 4:30pm and 5:30pm.)

Wash your hands.

Outside of the shower, at the sink, use one pump of tattoo soap and water to GENTLY cleanse your eyebrows, helping to remove excess oil or oozing.

Rinse thoroughly! If you have filtered or distilled water, this is best. Cup hands with water and rinse to make sure all the soap is removed.

Avoid sleeping on your face.

Since you cannot apply SPF, wear a hat and sunglasses while outside or even in the car.
The conditional use of AHA’s and BHA’s, Retinol, or anything dedicated to anti-aging or acne within your skincare, can lead to a premature fading of your tattoo and/or a change of color. What this means is you may need to come in sooner for your annuals. *Do not apply these products directly onto the brows.
Once healed, apply sunscreen (SPF30-50) directly onto your eyebrows for LONG TERM PROTECTION. *Do not apply sunscreen on freshly tattooed brows (10-14 days).
Book your annual for before the two year mark.

Immediately following the procedure, you will leave the studio with a generous amount of the Silver Gel applied to the treated area (also provided in your bag). If the area is one that will come into contact with clothing, we will apply a non-stick bandage for you (Not for cosmetic tattoos).
Apply Silver Gel (provided), with a clean cotton swab 2–3 times for the remainder of the day.
No makeup, no sunscreen, excess wetting of the area; nothing else other than these directions and what was given in your post-care bag.
A scab will form over the treated area and will naturally fall off in approximately two weeks. It is critical to keep the scab clean using the soap provided. Do a quick wash (rinse) once daily very gently by tapping and patting dry with a clean paper towel (not your bath towel).
Apply Silver Gel (provided), with a clean cotton swab 2–3 times daily for 10 days.
No prolonged exposure to the sun until the scab falls off naturally (in approximately 10 days to 2 weeks).
After the scab falls off naturally, continue to use the Silver Gel twice daily (until out) and shield the area from the sun while applying a pure zinc oxide SPF daily. The sun can be very damaging to new skin.
If the treated area is below the elbow or knee, elevate for 10 minutes every 2 hours for 3 days.
Please text (808-517-2553) or email (hello@hlstudio.ink) a photo of your treated area to ensure your healing is going smoothly at the 48 hour mark.

Do not prematurely pick at your scabs.
Avoid direct sunlight.
Avoid saunas, pools and the beach.
Avoid excess sweating; No working out/hiking for 3–5 days.
Don't forget, no makeup, no sunscreen, excess wetting of the area; nothing else other than these directions and what was given in your post-care bag.
To prevent the risk of infection, always wash your hands thoroughly and vigorously with soap and warm water before applying aftercare and a bandage (bandage for large body areas).
Only Silver Gel is to be used topically, with no makeup, lotions, or other ointments to the treated area until the scab has naturally fallen off.
Do not pick at the scab as this can cause scarring and less ink removal.
If an infection or adverse reaction occurs at the site of the treated area, contact Heidi immediately and seek medical advice if necessary.
UNDO aftercare products are scientifically proven and highly recommended to help reduce the risk of scarring.
For cosmetic tattoo removal: Still discontinue AHA’s and BHA’s (ex: retinol, glycolic acid, benzoyl peroxide, mandelic acid, hydroquinone, salicylic acid, lactic acid, etc.) during the healing process.
After the removal process is complete the skin may appear pink for approximately one year, it is very important to protect this new skin from the sun with a zinc SPF 30–50. *Do not apply on freshly removed or scabbed areas.
